Whew... where do I start. This second time around in Online Design was an interesting experience.
I was really excited on expanding my knowledge in the software, and I was excited about taking on a new challenge.
The first time I was assigned project B, we were instructed to pick a a well known fairy tale (or nursery rhyme) and give it a modern twist. We got to choose our own songs, and I picked Little Miss Muffet for the story to animate in the end and made it into an anime (and threw in references of Chick-fil-a).
Little Miss Muffet Here. However, this time when I took the class, I came in expecting the same things. Instead, we were each assigned a song and we had to create a motion video to the song's rhythem. It took me a minute to get a story I would enjoy making. Until finally, I came up with the half rabbit-half donkey creature. In this process, I discovered that I really like making storyboards. I don't prefer to put the graphics in motion in Flash, but I do like to computer illustrate the characters and other objects. I always feel that I could do better. I'll probably tweak it in the near future.
For Project C, I was really nervous. We were assigned art movements and had to create a cell phone mini museum experience for people who did not want to leave their homes. When I saw the selections we had to choice from, a few people quickly picked the ones I wanted before I could. So at that point, I just didn't really care what I got. Even though in my head I was praying that I wouldn't get the Arts & Crafts Movement.. and that's exactly the one I ended up getting. I guess it was just destiny lol. This was probably the toughest assignment I've ever had to do, but at the same time, I was up for the challenge... I don't like shunning away anything that will help me grow. Anyway, the Arts & Crafts Movement was so far from my element, I didn't know if I would be able to translate this site well. I went through a good 5 designs on screen for this site, and it wasn't until the 6th one that I finally got it. But that wasn't until after I had already designed the DreamWeaver site ^_^
Project D...
Man, I was like really excited about this at first. I thought we would be able to create our own websites like we did my first time in the class. I stayed up all night writing the design brief about what I wanted to create. When I emailed it to the professor, and I was told that it's supposed to be a sister site for the cell phone site, I wanted to cry TT_TT lol. I thought I had escaped the Arts & Crafts Movement for good... all I could say was "devastation." So after I did the wireframes and the first draft of the layout, I started to worry. I thought the choices I made weren't good at all.. the textures were too busy and they were clashing with text. At that point, I just had to take a break... for about a week lol. I spent that time looking for inspiration (and I made a few other layouts for other people.) Finally, I created something that had a modern style that was pleasing to the eye, and the content strictly focused on the Arts & Crafts Movement. After doing some major tweaking, I was able to just code everything into DreamWeaver and completed the site within 3-4 hours. I don't think I've ever done an entire site the quick before. I was really happy with the outcome.
Overall, I would say I really enjoyed this class. I would definitly take it a thrid time (If I were to still be in school.. or even if that were allowed). I love doing web design, and I hope that I will soon be able to create a Flash-based website.

I pray to God I don't ahve a bunch of tardies because I didn't know we had to email her the "links" to our process lol. I thought we jsut emailed he html sites.. If this is true.. this may ruin me graduating in 2 weeks. I will truly be devastated if it comes to this TT^TT (cries)
But anyway, here is the link to my student website

http://www.doll-doll.com
ok... this site is really inspiring to me because it relates the most to the type of style I have. at least when it comes to animated pieces. It's a user friendly interactive site that lets people build a doll to care for (i guess lol) on their website. What I like the most about this is the look and the sound effetcs the dolls use.

this site is very nice. It's different from the rest of the sites a postes as far as the theme. (well, all of them are different from each other). What I find the most interesting about ff0000 is that their navigational system are animated dead spirits. I recognize them from their work, since they did the NVIDIA ad I always see on some sites I visit. And they did the Disney XD site

ok.. this site is by far, the creepiest TT^TT (cries). It starts off by typing questions for you to answer... and the setting is already very dark and gloomy. I couldn't really figure out how to navigate it

ok... i have to be honest here. i'm dreading this project right now... I'm trying really hard to find inspiration about the Arts & Craft Movement (because that's really not my style T^T)... But I know that I would have to do this at a real job, so I have to suck it up.
Anyway...
the Arts & Crafts Movement is bascially a movement revolving around British, American and European Art. The pieces it consists of are things like wood work, furnishings, hand crafts, pottery weavings, etc. So as far as the look of my mini site goes, I'm trying to find a way to incorporate a nice texture in the backgrouond without it looking dull and mucky. I also want to keep the look modern in a way.
As far as inspiration goes... I really like these 3 sites.
http://www.rapp.com
This site is actually about a firm in Las Colinas. They will actually be seeing upper level UTA students this Friday for professiona portfolio reviews. But What I like about this site is the color scheme and the fact that it has subtle interactivity. (like hovering over images)
http://www.infinityart.ro/
this one is really really interesting. It givies off an eerie vibe while it's loading. Once the home page comes up, the content is set up really nicely. But this site does have some cons in my book. I was trying to read some of their info and I kept getting interrupted by the glitch they purposely put in there. That tv glitch thing lol

This is probably my favorite site out of the 3. ^^ I love the colors, the navigation, and their work!! I really took a liking to their sound effects (i know i'm so lame >_<). This site is an inspiration to me
Edit::

Ok... I take that last comment back.. THIS is my favorite out of the sites. And whet I love the most is that the movement is happening with real people. I also loove the zoom effects and the highlighter tool ^_^
